	Welcome to BREC *Broomfield Road Evangelical Church*
	We are an independently run Evangelical Church, established in 1935. Independent? While we enjoy good relations with other churches in Chelmsford we are not of any denominational grouping. The activities are run by church members with overall responsibility for the church resting with a small group of members called 'elders'. Evangelical? We place particular stress on these following beliefs which go to the heart of the Christian faith: The importance of the Bible for right beliefs and conduct. Jesus Christ is the Son of God and he lived as a man on earth, died on the cross for our sins and rose again from the dead. Through belief in Jesus we can know God as our Father. We have about 100 members and each week about 200 adults/children use our building for various events and activities. Our full time Pastor is James Hepworth

					Our Vision Statement To be a community of God's people who serve and worship Him, who reflect the character of His Son, Jesus Christ, and who are empowered and led by God's Spirit. To build up one another, through love, encouragement and support, to enable us, as a community and as individuals, to live out our Christian faith more effectively wherever God has placed us and in whatever situation we find ourselves. To reach out to others of all ages (particularly to those in the local neighbourhood) in relevant and practical ways as an expression of God's love for all people and in order to share the good news of Jesus Christ and thereby to draw others into God's community.
